6 Oct 2007 - Games

Dear createe,

In October, we did games to get to know each other, and the new year 6s, thanks to Sue and Jules for leading!

We learnt about the lots of different stuff you need to think about when leading games.  We started by thinking about what makes games good or bad and the different sort of games that we can play including ice breakers, running around games, quiet games, safe games and dangerous games.  The first game involved boys v girls.  It was supposed to show how not to run a game as it was dangerous and unfair - there were more girls but they were soft so the boys won of course :O)’ - however it was great fun and there weren’t that many injuries!  We learnt about how to make team games fair and the importance of easy to understand rules and that it is important that everybody is included and the importance of safety (although sometimes dangerous games can be more fun!)  Sam managed to lose a beanbag during the scatterball game as well as hurting himself during the Steal the Bacon game.  Both  Fruit Salad and Pictionary were great fun.

We’re hoping to get some copies of the handouts on this site soon - thanks to Sue and Jules for leading!

The team letting off steam by playing Pictionary.

What makes a good or bad game?

More Pictionary, probably better than the team though!

The "ARGH! MY FINGERS" game. Also known as "Fruit Salad!"

Where'd that beanbag get to?

It was here a minute ago!
